Wayne Gretzky said it best: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” (And fellow Denverites — keep an eye on the Avalanche this spring. They’re taking theirs.)

I’m reading Designing Your Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, and one idea keeps surfacing: designers have a bias for action. They prototype. They build messy first drafts. They learn by doing — not by planning forever in their heads.

Last night, a client told me he wants to live in a more vibrant city. So he traveled solo to a few candidates and worked from coffee shops. He came back frustrated — and clear: he hates traveling alone. That clarity is gold. He didn’t lose; he learned. Now he’s exploring with friends and group tours instead.

You can’t think your way to the answer. You have to move. Take a shot. The result — yes or no, joy or energy suck — is the data you need.

What action can you take this week that moves you closer to your goal?

If this lands and you’d like some guidance, holler. I got you.
